Category: Infertitlity Hormone Testing

Despite the fact that many men and women receive FSH testing that indicates they have low levels of fertility, there are relatively low levels awareness concerning the problem among the public. This may prevent people from seeking the appropriate treatments for addressing their condition.

"Infertility is a subject often not openly discussed. We want couples experiencing difficulties conceiving to realize that they are not alone in their struggles. In fact, about 10 percent of the population is unable to conceive naturally," said Sunday Pirkle, the CEO and scientific director of North Texas Fertility.

The group is trying to raise awareness about the problems related infertility. The medical office is planning to recognize National Infertility Awareness Week, to be held April 22 through the 28, by offering a fertility treatment to one couple that is experiencing difficulty conceiving.

Pirkle said that many people who undergo such treatments feel they need to conceal the fact from their friends and family. However, since infertility is such a common problem, no one should have to. The goal of the awareness week is to eliminate these stigmas.
