Women who are trying to conceive should pay attention their exercise habits

Category: Infertitlity Hormone Testing

For women who want to improve their FSH test results and increase their chances of becoming pregnant, they may want to reconsider their exercise routines. A new study published in the journal Fertility and Sterility indicates that physical activities can play a large role in a woman's fertility.

The study involved more than 3,600 women between the ages of 18 and 40. Researchers from the Boston University School of Public Health tracked the exercise habits of the women and measured how long it took them to conceive if they were trying to get pregnant.

The results showed that moderate exercise enhanced a woman's chances of conceiving. However, overdoing it with physical activity can be harmful. Individuals who were more vigorous in their workouts tended to have a harder time becoming pregnant.

Women who were significantly overweight also experienced difficulty conceiving, but intensive exercise did not appear to worsen these problems.

The researchers said the findings make it clear that women who are trying to get pregnant should not engage in vigorous physical activity. This may interfere with their ability to conceive.
