Expert says acupuncture can revive fertility

Many people who receive FSH test results indicating low levels of fertility resort to in vitro fertilization treatments or other such methods. But experts say that natural methods may be just as effective at stimulating fertility without requiring expensive and potentially harmful medical therapies.

Alan Rouse, an expert acupuncturist, said that acupuncture may be one of the most effective, least invasive ways to stimulate fertility. It can be particularly effective in older adults who are interested in having a baby.

According to Rouse, organs tend to slow down and lose functionality over time. This is particularly true of sex organs. They tend to become strained and worn out with age. Traditional IVF treatments may not necessarily address this problem.

"Many older couples in their late thirties and early forties find that they are unable to conceive but they often forget that their bodies have had a hard life," Rouse said. "They pay for expensive courses of fertility stimulation without attempting to assess what is wrong with their body systems, expecting a damaged body to produce a baby if they throw money at it."

As an alternative, Rouse recommended acupuncture, which he said can stimulate sluggish organs and revive older adults' fertility.
